Betfair operates the largest online betting exchange in the world. You can access Betfair Exchange through a desktop website, a mobile website and a mobile app.
Before downloading and installing the app, you must first register your account at Betfair.
Open a Betfair Account
The Betfair Exchange Betting app is available for all iOS devices through iTunes and is optimized for iPhone 5. Android users can download the app directly from Betfair or through the Google Play store, and it supports most devices that use Android 2.3 or higher.
The Betfair Exchange Betting app is a full-featured user interface for the service. In other words, you can conduct your entire Exchange experience from your phone without ever using the desktop website.
To get started, you must open your account at the Betfair Betting Exchange. Click here to visit Betfair. Then hit the Join Now button.
Fill in the registration form. The proper Promo code/Referral code should automatically populate in the form. At the time of this writing the promo code should be VAL222 but it could default to another code, which is fine, as long as a valid code is automatically shown.
You should see a green check mark next to the Promo code/Referral code prompt to show that the code is valid:
Betfair Exchange Betting Welcome Bonus
Betfair welcomes new customers to its betting exchange with a free bet worth £/€20. In order to claim this bonus, create your account using the promotional code VAL222. Then make a deposit of at least £/€20. Finally, make a bet with a stake of at least £/€20.
Note that you must make this qualifying bet within seven days of creating your account or the bonus expires. If your first bet slip at Betfair lists multiple wagers worth £/€20 or more, the first wager to settle is considered your qualifying bet.
The bonus is contingent on you losing your qualifying bet. If you win that bet, then there’s no free bet credited to your account. If you do lose the bet, then Betfair will give you a £/€20 free bet, which you then have seven days to use or it will expire.
If you win the free bet, there’s no wagering requirement. You can immediately use your winnings however you see fit, including withdrawing, wagering and transferring. There’s one difference from a regular bet in that you don’t get a return of the wager stake.
Betfair Exchange Betting Cashback Promotion
Betfair is currently running a promotion for new members that lets them earn cash back on betting exchange bets placed in the first 30 days of membership. Any cashback bonus will be awarded after the first 30 days once all bets are settled, and the total bonus can be as much as £1,000.
Your bonus amount is determined by the number of points earned during that thirty-day period. Wagers are worth a number of points based on their value as well as their odds. The more money you wager the more points you earn, but you’ll also earn more points the greater the odds.
Popular markets are listed at the top of the app. Sports like football and horse racing have their own buttons. On the right side of that horizontal list, there’s a More button, which will bring you to list of all markets.
You can sticky a market as well, so if you bet cricket frequently, sticky it and that market will be listed on your front page whenever you log in. There’s also a Highlights option on the markets menu, and that will bring to a list of popular and showcase bets across a wide range of markets.
Your bet slip is a focal point of the app, and it’s easily accessible at all times by pressing the Betslip button on the bottom menu. Close out the bet slip and you’ll be right back in the app wherever you were when you requested the slip. The bet slip can handle multiple bets at a time, but it’s really set up to handle one bet or a multiple bet. If you’re setting up multiple multiple bets, the app can get a bit unwieldly, so it’s best to set up one bet or group at a time, finalize it, and then move on to another.
You can view your bet history at any time by pressing the My Bets button in the bottom menu. This list provides all of your placed bets in chronological order based on the event or settle time. If you’ve been an active member for a while, the list can be quite long. The UI doesn’t yet support searching or filtering bets. Such features are expected and are already implemented on the desktop and mobile website.
One of the most popular features at Betfair Exchange is in-play betting, which is wagering when a match or other event is already underway. If there are in-play opportunities at the moment, you’ll see an In-Play option in the main top menu. Pressing it will bring you to a list of all in-play wagers, which you can then filter based on market and other factors. Alternately, you can access in-play bets from within the markets themselves. So if you click Football, you’ll see in-play bets if you choose to in that list as well.
Another popular Betting Exchange feature that’s supported by the mobile app is what Betfair calls Cash Out. This feature lets you sell your bets early at a reduced payout. Just access the bet in question through the My Bets interface and choose the cash out option. You can even cash out horse racing parlays in between races, which is something that many sportsbooks and exchanges don’t allow.
As an example, let’s say you bet Liverpool over Chelsea and Liverpool is up by a goal at the midpoint. If the bet would pay out £50, you might be able to cash out for £25. If Liverpool were up two or more goals, your cash out offer would be even higher. Once you cash out a bet, the app will provide a notification popup that indicates success or failure and provides details.
As an alternative to Betfair, we highly recommend you check out Bet365. Get £100 in bet credits when you register with the Bet365 bonus code CBC365. Click here to learn more about this Bet365 bonus code offer.
